Improving Ventilation in Your Home

By January 26, 2021No Comments

We recently came across the CDC’s article about improving ventilation, and we couldn’t agree more with their recommendations!

Here are the recommendations the CDC gives for improving your indoor air quality:

  • Opening windows and doors: Only do this when you deem it safe. Unsafe conditions would include having children or pets in your home, there’s a risk of falling, if it will trigger asthma or allergies, or if there is a risk of pollution getting into your home.

  • Filter your home’s air: If you live in a home or apartment that has a furnace or HVAC system that has a filter, FiltersFast.com carries a variety of sizes of pleated air filters. Can’t find your size? We make custom air filters too!

The CDC also recommends that if your HVAC fan is controlled by a thermostat to switch the fan to be “on” instead of “auto” when you have visitors in your home.

  • Use a portable air cleaner with a HEPA filter: If a HEPA portable air cleaner is what you’re looking for, you’re in luck!

  • Turn on the exhaust fan in your bathroom or kitchen: Doing this is a great way to help improve airflow and keep virus particles from concentrating in one place.

  • Use fans to improve airflow: The CDC recommends running fans near an open window to blow air outside. Do not point fans at people or run your ceiling fans.

The LivePure Oscillating Bladeless Vortex Fan will produce a solid stream of airflow and is safe to use around kids and pets. This portable bladeless fan will eliminate dust build-up and can effectively help improve airflow in your home.
