Here are the recommendations the CDC gives for improving your indoor air quality:

  • Opening windows and doors: Only do this when you deem it safe. Unsafe conditions would include having children or pets in your home, there’s a risk of falling, if it will trigger asthma or allergies, or if there is a risk of pollution getting into your home.

  • Filter your home’s air: If you live in a home or apartment that has a furnace or HVAC system that has a filter, carries a variety of sizes of pleated air filters. Can’t find your size? We make custom air filters too!

The CDC also recommends that if your HVAC fan is controlled by a thermostat to switch the fan to be “on” instead of “auto” when you have visitors in your home.

  • Turn on the exhaust fan in your bathroom or kitchen: Doing this is a great way to help improve airflow and keep virus particles from concentrating in one place.

  • Use fans to improve airflow: The CDC recommends running fans near an open window to blow air outside. Do not point fans at people or run your ceiling fans.
